Text-to-Speech Kiosk

A kiosk with audio output that reads screen content aloud for visually impaired users.

Text-to-speech (TTS) on kiosks uses synthesised speech to narrate all on-screen content — instructions, form fields, confirmations, and error messages. MOVO-X integrates TTS for Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, and Tamil using high-quality neural TTS engines (Google Cloud TTS or ElevenLabs). Activation is via a dedicated button or proximity sensor, keeping the default experience silent for other users.

Malaysian Context

Malaysia's four major languages must all be supported for healthcare kiosks serving the national population. Tamil TTS is particularly important in hospital outpatient departments in Selangor and Perak.
