Data Protection Officer (DPO) — Malaysia
A qualified person responsible for overseeing PDPA compliance within an organisation.
A Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for ensuring an organisation's data processing activities comply with PDPA 2010. While not yet mandatory for all Malaysian organisations, best practice (and the proposed PDPA amendments) recommend a dedicated DPO for healthcare data processors. MOVO-X has engaged a MY-resident DPO to oversee the Malaysia deployment data governance programme, including data mapping, DPIA for new processing activities, and staff training.
