Fingerprint Scanner
A biometric peripheral that reads fingerprints for patient identity verification.
Fingerprint scanners use optical or capacitive sensors to capture a fingerprint image, extract a feature template (minutiae map), and match it against a stored template. In healthcare kiosks, fingerprint scanning enables staff-free identity verification for returning patients. MOVO-X fingerprint integration encrypts templates at capture, transmits only a match score (never the raw image), and purges templates per PDPA 2010 retention rules.
