Thermal Printer
A receipt-style printer that produces queue tokens and appointment slips without ink.
A thermal printer uses heat rather than ink to create images on heat-sensitive paper. In healthcare kiosks, thermal printers produce queue tokens (numbered slips), appointment confirmation receipts, and patient wristbands. They are preferred over inkjet/laser printers for kiosk integration because they are fast (200mm/sec), require no ink cartridge maintenance, have few moving parts, and produce durable receipts. MOVO-X kiosks use 80mm thermal printers (Epson or Citizen) with an auto-cutter.
