Queue Token
A unique identifier — printed slip or digital code — assigned to a patient upon check-in.
A queue token is the patient's place-holder in a service queue. In physical systems it is a printed slip with a number (e.g., "A047") from a thermal printer attached to the kiosk. In virtual systems it is a digital reference sent by SMS or WhatsApp. The token encodes the patient's name, IC number, assigned department, doctor, and estimated wait time. The QMS software tracks token status through states: Waiting → Called → In-Service → Completed → No-Show.
Malaysian Context
Malaysian hospital kiosk standards require the token to print patient name in both Romanised and Jawi script when the patient's MyKad indicates Malay ethnicity.
