Virtual Queue
A digital queue where patients receive a token and wait freely without occupying physical seats.
A virtual queue (also called a mobile queue or digital queue) allows patients to join a waiting list digitally — via kiosk, mobile app, or WhatsApp — and then wait freely outside the facility, in a café, or in their car. The system notifies them via SMS, WhatsApp, or audio announcement when their turn approaches. This eliminates overcrowded waiting rooms, reduces no-shows, and improves patient satisfaction scores. Virtual queues are particularly valuable in Malaysian hospitals where physical space is limited and multi-department visits are common.
Malaysian Context
WhatsApp penetration in Malaysia exceeds 95%, making WhatsApp-based virtual queue notifications the preferred channel over SMS.
